Job Title: Business Unit Manager – ODOR (Global)

Lead the Global Evolution of the ODOR Business Unit
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Manager to lead our ODOR Business Unit and drive the strategic transformation and global expansion the business. This is a high-impact leadership role, responsible for leading a focussed, market leading enterprise while also shifting the unit towards a globally integrated business aligned with our international growth ambitions.
Based in Germany and reporting directly to the Group CEO, the successful candidate will shape and execute global strategies, manage a team of dedicated professionals, and drive commercial performance through innovation, operational excellence, and strategic partnerships.
The Company:
The ODOR Business Unit with Trajan Scientific and Medical develops and produces odorization measurement and control devices for gas supply companies worldwide focused on odorants such as organic sulfur compounds (THT or mercaptan mixtures) or sulfur-free odorants such as Gasodor S-Free.
Previously part of Axel Semrau with a proud 40 year history ODOR has, since November 2021, been part of the listed company Trajan Scientific and Medical, which enables us to leverage synergies in our industry worldwide. International trade relations are an important part of our work.

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the operations and integration of the ODOR team into the global Trajan organisation.
* Develop and lead the global growth strategy for the ODOR Business Unit, aligning with the wider corporate vision.
* Deliver against financial targets, including revenue, margin, and EBITDA.
* Build and nurture relationships with key internal stakeholders, global partners, suppliers, and customers.
* Work with marketing to raise the global profile of the ODOR portfolio and ensure market relevance across regions.
* Manage customer accounts, support complex negotiations, and define competitive quotations, pricing models, and discount strategies.
* Oversee project management across technical, resource, and prioritisation dimensions.
* Act as the escalation point for operational and commercial issues within the ODOR team.
* Continuously monitor global market trends, customer demands, and competitive activity to inform timely strategic decisions.
* Identify, assess, and lead new business opportunities including partnerships, investments, and divestments.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific/technical field.
* Extensive knowledge and practical experience in gas detection, chromatography, and sensing technologies.
* Strong understanding of both natural and manufactured gas supply chains.
* A proven track record of leading and scaling business units, ideally with international scope.
* A balanced leader who can operate strategically while remaining hands-on when needed.
* Excellent commercial, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
* Fluency in German and English (spoken and written) are essential.
* Culturally agile and experienced in working across international teams and markets.
