The Role
We're looking for a Senior Accountant (m/f/d) to join our Finance team. In your day-to-day work, you'll focus on managing all accounting tasks, financial statements, and the timely preparation of figures for controlling while ensuring compliance with HGB standards. To join our team, you should be excited to
* Ensure day-to-day transactions such as accounts payable, cash receipts and accounts receivable, credit card transactions, and payroll are recorded properly
* Perform timely and accurate month-end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations (e.g., net assets, investments, revenue, expenses, payroll allocations, etc.), ensuring that accounting schedules are updated and accurate
* Ensure proper revenue and expense recognition
* Ensure all finance and accounting operations comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and federal and state laws and regulations
* Maintain general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries
* Summarise financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other documents
* Support and oversee tax audits (both internal and external) and tax returns
Your Profile
* Several years of experience as an accountant, preferably in a fast-growing environment
* Strong knowledge of typical accounting procedures, general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
* Good knowledge of HGB Accounting Principles, IFRS will be a bonus
* Proficiency in SAP S4/HANA and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
* Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Hands-on, structured, and organized work approach
* Ability to take initiative and ownership of projects and processes
* Commercial training as a Bilanzbuchhalter (IHK) or a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or other relevant degrees
* Fluency in German and English is required
