We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Pipework & PH Package Manager to oversee the delivery and coordination of all mechanical services related to pipework and public health on a large-scale new build data center project. This role is crucial in ensuring the mechanical systems are installed to the highest standards, within programme and budget, while ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the full lifecycle of the mechanical pipework and PH package from design through to commissioning and handover.
* Coordinate between the client, design teams, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure smooth delivery of all mechanical systems including CHW, LTHW, domestic water services, drainage, and above-ground pipework.
* Monitor and manage subcontractor performance, ensuring works are delivered to spec, on programme and in compliance with safety standards.
* Review and validate subcontractor RAMS, method statements, ITPs, and technical submissions.
* Attend daily/weekly site coordination meetings with the MEP team and general contractor.
* Ensure that all installation activities align with the BIM model and coordinated drawings.
* Manage QA/QC process including inspections, red-lining drawings, as-built submissions, and O&M manual collation.
* Work closely with commissioning teams to deliver systems in line with the project commissioning schedule.
* Track progress against construction schedules and report updates and potential risks to senior management.
* Ensure strict compliance with site health and safety procedures and promote a strong safety culture.
* Liaise with procurement to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in a Mechanical Package Manager or similar role on large-scale construction projects (Data Centers, Pharma, Hospitals, or Hi-Tech buildings preferred).
* Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems including pipework, valves, pumps, water services, and drainage.
* Understanding of data center-specific mechanical services, cooling infrastructure, and redundancy principles is highly desirable.
* Demonstrated ability to coordinate between multiple trades and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
* Competence with interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and BIM models.
* Familiarity with QA/QC processes, permit systems, and commissioning documentation.
Qualifications:
* Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or related field.
* CSCS / Safe Pass / Site Supervisor certification (as applicable by region).
* SMSTS or SSSTS (preferred).
* Membership of CIBSE, IMECHE, or similar professional body (advantageous).
