POSITION'S OBJECTIVE
To lead the IT and data strategy for the clients webshop project, ensuring smooth collaboration with enterprise IT stakeholders, effective prioritisation and execution of technical initiatives, and high performance of the cross-functional delivery team (data, dev, CRM). The role combines strategic planning with hands-on problem solving and people leadership in a fast-paced eCommerce environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Tech & Data Strategy:
* Define and drive a scalable IT and data roadmap aligned with business goals and webshop performance targets.
* Team Management & Mentoring:
* Lead and develop a cross-functional team of data scientists, data engineers, frontend developers, and CRM specialists.
* Enterprise IT Collaboration:
* Translate project needs into actionable tasks for central IT teams and coordinate implementation via platforms like Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
* eCommerce Architecture Oversight:
* Provide guidance or hands-on support on topics like webshop infrastructure, integrations, and data exchange between Commerce Cloud and Marketing Cloud; support a variety of eCommerce platform ecosystems.
* Issue Resolution & QA Support:
* Solve technical issues directly or coordinate solutions across the team; ensure QA processes are in place and effective.
* CRO & MarTech Enablement:
* Ensure the webshop supports analytics, tracking, CRO, and MarTech tool integrations (e.g., tag managers, BI dashboards).
* Workflow & Tools Implementation:
* Facilitate smooth usage of tools like Jira, Confluence, and help onboard non-technical stakeholders.
* Hands-On Technical Delivery:
* Take initiative in critical technical topics and tools where required, or guide team members to execute effectively.
* Cross-Functional Communication:
* Maintain strong alignment between tech, marketing, business, and corporate IT stakeholders; communicate blockers, timelines, and risks clearly.
EDUCATION
COURSES / KNOWLEDGE
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Informatics or related field preferred.

HARD SKILLS
Strong understanding of Salesforce Commerce Cloud and/or other major eCommerce platforms, such as:
* Magento / Adobe Commerce
* Shopify Plus
* SAP Commerce (Hybris)
* BigCommerce
* CommerceTools
* WooCommerce (for integrations or frontend use cases)
* Custom-built headless or microservice architectures
Knowledge of data integration, database architecture, and cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure)
Familiarity with MarTech tools such as Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Segment, Adobe Analytics
Experience with workflow and collaboration tools like Jira and Confluence
Understanding of CRO concepts, A/B testing workflows, and technical enablement for experimentation
Basic scripting or data querying (e.g., SQL, Python) is a plus

EXPERIENCE
CHARACTERISTICS
5+ years in IT leadership
Ideally with exposure to German corporate/enterprise IT
Previous experience in eCommerce tech delivery
Strong knowledge of platform architecture and systems integration
Proven track record of cross-functional team leadership
Includes developers, data teams, CRM and frontend specialists
Project ownership in MarTech and analytics
Includes CRO strategies, tracking, and tool enablement initiatives
