Based on significant commercial demand, our client has established a Time-Critical Logistics division and is seeking a Time-Critical Logistics Operations Manager to pioneer the establishment of this vertical for Europe based in Frankfurt.
The Time-Critical Logistics Operations Manager will lead and drive the Time-Critical Logistics operational activities and the development of the service against backdrop of high demand thus presenting a role with significant career development opportunity in a leading global organization.
The position would suit a commercially focused operations leader with strong customer orientation focused on operations excellence and team development. Ideally you will have gained managerial/operations leadership experience in Time-Critical Logistics and/or Airfreight forwarding in a major Freight Forwarder/global logistics service provider, and have proven experience in establishing, leading and developing an operations team.
Responsibilities
* Establish and lead a 24/7/365 Global high responsiveness Time-Critical team.
* Develop solutions such as On-board couriers, Next Flight Out (NFO) services and charters.
* Manage real-time & tracking systems.
* Coordinates all transnational operations (Export, Import and Customs activities), adhering to regulations and internal procedures
* Ensure the Operations team meets customer requirements and takes immediate corrective actions in case of deviations from requirements
* Provides guidelines to Export, Import and Gateway to ensure operations are consistent with group business strategy and compliant with the local business environment.
* Monitors quality and adherence to standards and is responsible for constant improvement and optimization.
* Develops a high-performance service culture.
* Ensures realization of budgetary performance by setting and monitoring clear objectives.
* Manages interface with Control Towers, Business Development, Product, and country Operations.
Experience/requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, or a recognized Freight Forwarding qualification or equivalent combination of business experience.
* Minimum 10 years’ industry experience (especially Air Freight) with a minimum of 4 years’ managerial experience.
* Highly proficient systems skills.
* Advanced knowledge of Freight Forwarding and logistics processes, security procedures and protocols pertaining to Time-Critical Logistics.
* Ability to benchmark with industry to evaluate and assess/manage business operations and opportunities.
* Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate, develop and encourage others to positively contribute to business goals and objectives.
* High level analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills.
* Strong commitment to client service excellence with the ability to build solid relationships.
* Highly knowledgeable over International Air Transport Association (IATA) regulations.
* Spoken and written fluency in the English & German languages.
