The »Grid-free Methods« department at the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics ITWM focuses on the modeling and efficient simulation of complex industrial problems for the design and optimization of technical processes and products. We present the exciting range of applications of our collaborative software development MESHFREE:
Currently, our team is working on further developing the MESHFREE software for volume-volume or surface-volume coupling, in order to enable heterogeneous allocation of MPI resources between different model hierarchies. We are looking for motivated students in the field of numerical fluid mechanics and multi-physics simulation methods.
Be part of change
* Analyze and optimize existing coupling strategies to improve the efficiency and scalability of simulations
* Automate the setup of configuration files using MESHFREE software to streamline the simulation process
* Conduct numerical simulations to investigate fluid-structure interactions or fluid-fluid couplings in multiphysics systems
* Knowledge of topics like fluid-structure interactions or monolithic/partitioned couplings or numerical methods
What you contribute
* Current studies in computational mechanics, applied mathematics, or computer science
* Programming skills, ideally in Python, C++, or Fortran
* Knowledge of topics like fluid-structure interactions or monolithic/partitioned couplings or numerical methods
* Ability to work independently and creatively
* Very good German or English skills
What we offer
* Exciting questions from the industrial field
* Space for your own ideas and independent action
* Close mentoring and constructive feedback
* The latest technology in an exciting research environment
* Opportunity to pursue a doctorate.
