Job Description
This role is a chance to work in partnership with the J.P. Morgan SE Money Laundering Reporting Officer and regional and global KYC functions, developing and implementing KYC policies and practices for J.P. Morgan in Germany that support a compliant and smooth customer on-boarding, provide professional KYC advice across all lines of business of J.P. Morgan SE and conduct KYC related controls.
As a KYC Lead within the Global Financial Crimes Compliance team, you will provide the specific rules for customer on-boarding in accordance with German legal and regulatory KYC requirements. In your daily work, you provide valuable advice to the business and its onboarding teams on customer specific KYC issues. KYC controls conducted by you identify potential weaknesses or deficiencies in the KYC and related processes which help to improve the J.P. Morgan SE KYC.
Job responsibilities
* Providing day-to-day KYC advisory services on German legal and regulatory KYC requirements to the business and its operations including customer onboarding teams and Quality Control.
* Assist in the creation, maintenance and update of KYC policies and procedures relevant to all lines of business in Germany.
* Support the Deputy MLRO/MLRO in monitoring and identifying KYC related legal and regulatory changes applicable to JPMSE in Germany.
* Conduct control and monitoring activities concerning adherence to legal, regulatory and internal KYC requirements.
* Review of customer escalations involving AML events, negative news, sanctions and/or higher risk clients, where applicable.
* Assist in the evaluation of new business initiatives and risk assess any such initiatives with regard to compliance with KYC requirements.
* Provide advice to the business and its operations regarding internal KYC policies and regulatory matters.
* Collaborate with various teams in gathering information and reviewing responses for KYC related regulatory examinations/responses, internal audits, compliance tests and regulatory investigations and enquiries.
* Assess 1LoD financial crime related management information and identify and escalate AML/KYC and/or control issues.
* Support submissions to relevant local, regional or global KYC Committees, including relevant management information.
* Assist in providing relevant KYC training to staff as necessary.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
* Strong knowledge of the German and EU regulatory KYC and financial crime requirements.
* Experience in defending GFCC position in discussions on KYC topics with (senior) stakeholders in the business.
* Degree level education (or equivalent) or extensive, direct, and relevant KYC work experience
* Strong analytical, organizational, time management, and planning skills.
* Ability to make decisions, multi-task and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills necessary to work effectively with people at all levels in the organization
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in concisely summarising complex topics.
* Strong German and English language skills.
