Your role:
1. Plan and lead the project team in all technical matters.
2. Based on the agreed-upon objectives, strive for the best possible outcome for Aptiv and the customer from a technical, commercial, and business perspective.
3. Maintain strong customer relationships
4. Coordinate all project-relevant customer activities in the development area – with a focus on commercial vehicles
5. Plan and conduct necessary customer meetings
6. Coordinate with and participate in customer meetings, especially design meetings and cost review meetings, as requested.
7. Maintain continuous, high-quality communication with the production plant, the back office (India), and the resident engineer at the customer's site
8. Create the project milestones (PDP) required in EPM/SEE.
9. Adapt the customer milestones (presented only, not distributed) into the Aptiv PDP process.
10. Report escalation points to the program and/or technical supervisor.
11. Report technical solutions and progress toward KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to the PM proactively and conduct design reviews according to the PM master's schedule.
12. Escalate issues to your immediate supervisor or their deputy through weekly technical management meetings.
13. Support the Project Manager in preparing for and participating in customer Product Readiness Reviews (PRRs).
14. Clarify questions from the production plant regarding the drawing.
15. Coordinate change requests.
16. Initiate cost assessments and make them available on the relevant Project SharePoint/directory.
17. Provide technical support for prototype construction, installation trials, troubleshooting and corrective actions, and rework.
18. Provide technical support for RFQ requests.
19. Monitor the use of Aptiv's available engineering tools, such as BOD, DFM, DFA, RQA, FMEA, ECM, S-ECM, EPM, etc., throughout the various product development phases.
20. Coordination and management of design reviews in consultation with the necessary departments (PM, ME, OPL, etc.)
21. Supporting the cost and quality optimization of concepts and products for internal and external purposes.
22. Effective communication between all Aptiv departments and the customer
23. Ientifying critical processes, assessing risks and efficiency
24. Focusing on VOC (Voice of the Customer) feedback
25. Standardization and knowledge sharing within Aptiv PE
26. Active participation in requirement reviews for new projects in Flow3
27. Active responsibility for the PE item list for transfer to the Aptiv C-BOM
28. Supporting the Aptiv production plant with the necessary product information to ensure timely delivery of wiring harnesses, primarily through technical changes and drawing corrections.
29. Supporting the timeline for implementing MCIP (Material Cost Improvement Process) initiatives and informing the MCIP coordinator and sales about unidentified cost reduction PCRs (ECM, EPM, etc.) in the individual product development phases.
30. Coordination and management of design reviews in collaboration with the relevant departments (PM, ME, OPL, etc.)
31. Change management within the ECM system, ensuring compliance with all customer-specific standards and international product regulations.
32. Continuous professional development focused on Aptiv and the customer.
Your background:
33. At least one technical vocational qualification with additional training as a technician or master craftsman; university degree or equivalent
34. 10+ years of practical experience in a similar position
35. Very good knowledge of agricultural machinery/tractors, particularly regarding wiring harnesses/high-voltage systems/data transmission
36. Commercial knowledge including budgeting/forecasting/costing
37. Proficiency in OEM-specific CAD software, MS Office, and fluency in written and spoken English
38. Good German and very good written and spoken English skills
39. International travel is mandatory
