The Role
We are looking for a Director of Marketing who has scaled before, thrives in fast-moving tech environments, and combines strategic judgment with hands-on execution. This is not a pure strategy role. You will shape direction and drive output, enabling a lean team to deliver consistently high-impact communications.
You bring a growth-company mindset, understand how strategic communication supports category creation and scale, and know how to activate technology and data to multiply the effectiveness of a small team.
What You’ll Do
* Build and lead a lean, high-output marketing function, including team, agencies, and operating model
* Translate company strategy into a clear, outcomes-driven marketing and communications roadmap
* Own prioritization and trade-offs across PR, brand, product marketing, events, and digital
* Define and govern brand, narrative, and messaging, ensuring consistency, credibility, and quality
* Lead product and solution launches, turning complex capabilities into clear value propositions
* Own PR, media, and executive communications, including sensitive reviews and approvals
* Build a scalable content and digital engine (LinkedIn, website, newsroom) with repeatable workflows
* Drive impact from events, demos, and partnerships, ensuring narrative alignment and reusable outputs
* Coach and enable the team, set high standards, and drive execution through clarity and focus
What You Bring
* Proven experience in fast-scaling tech companies, ideally having helped build or scale a unicorn or category leader
* Experience in the defence industry would be considered a plus
* Strong understanding of strategic communications as a growth lever
* Track record of building and running lean, high-output teams
* Ability to define and implement a modern tech & data ecosystem (tools, workflows, analytics) to increase effectiveness
* Comfort operating in complex, high-stakes environments with multiple stakeholders
* Clear judgment, high execution velocity, and a strong growth mindset
* Fluent in German and English
