Your mission
UCANEO is seeking a skilled Experimental Scientist to join our Technical Development Team, contributing to the scaling and optimization of our innovative direct air capture technology. We are seeking a dedicated Technical Assistant to support the lab operations of our Berlin-based startup. In this hands-on role, you will work closely with our engineers and scientists, assisting with day-to-day laboratory tasks, testing, and prototype development for our DAC technology. You will play a key role in maintaining an efficient and organized lab environment, ensuring that experiments and tests run smoothly.
Key points:
* Assist in setting up and conducting experiments for electrochemical and process development.
* Maintain lab equipment, ensuring everything is calibrated and functioning properly.
* Prepare chemical solutions, handle lab materials, and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
* Collect, record, and analyze experimental data.
* Collaborate with engineers and scientists to support prototype development and testing.
* Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with lab safety standards.
Your profile
Skills and Experience:
* Technical diploma, Bachelor’s degree, or relevant certification in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
* 1+ years of hands-on experience in a laboratory setting.
* Familiarity with basic lab equipment and processes, including preparing solutions and handling chemicals.

At Ucaneo we develop a pioneering Direct Air Capture technology mimicking the human lung to remove carbon dioxide from the air. Climate change is a global problem and needs to be tackled at scale. Therefore, we set the goal to capture 0.5 GT of CO2 from the air by 2035 - roughly the same weight as all humans on earth combined!
