We are seeking a highly motivated Technician with hands-on experience in mRNA analytics to join our growing team. This role focuses on analytical testing and characterization of mRNA and LNP products to ensure quality and support process development.
Your Role
As a Technician in the mRNA Center of Excellence, you will be responsible for:
· Perform routine and advanced analytical methods for mRNA and LNP testing and characterization (e.g., UV spectroscopy, gel electrophoresis, capillary electrophoresis, HPLC, and purity assessments).
· Support development and qualification of analytical assays.
· Prepare samples, buffers, and reagents for analytical workflows.
· Operate and maintain analytical instruments and ensure calibration and performance checks.
· Maintain accurate and timely lab records, documentation, and equipment logs.
· Quality control of research-grade mRNA and LNPs.
· Developing and establishing new methods and assays, including writing method descriptions and protocols.
· Support technology transfer and scale-up activities related to analytical methods and quality control.
· Document procedures and results accurately in electronic lab notebooks and follow GLP/GMP-like standards.
· Work closely with process development and quality teams to ensure robust analytical support throughout the product lifecycle.
What You Bring
We’re looking for candidates who are passionate about biotechnology and eager to contribute to the development of mRNA vaccines. Ideal applicants will have:
· Practical experience in molecular biology techniques and laboratory operations with
· Completed vocational training as a Biological or Medical Technical Assistant (BTA or MTA) with at least 5 years of experience in an industrial laboratory setting.
· Alternatively, a Bachelor's or Master's degree in biotechnology, biology, or a related life sciences discipline with at least 5 years of experience in an industrial laboratory setting.
· Hands-on experience with analytical techniques such as UV spectroscopy, electrophoresis, chromatography, DLS and ideally RNA-specific methods.
· Familiarity with molecular biology tools, mRNA handling best practices, and aseptic techniques.
· Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and in a team.
· Ability to document and communicate effectively in English; German language skills are a plus.
Qualifications Considered a Plus:
· Experience in analytical development for mRNA or nucleic acids and LNPs.
· Knowledge of method validation, regulatory requirements, and cGMP principles in biopharmaceutical analytics.
