Postdoctoral Researcher Position in Neurodegenerative Disease Modeling
About the research centre
The Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) is an interdisciplinary research hub at the University of Luxembourg, conducting fundamental and translational research in systems biology and biomedicine.
We are focused on neurodegenerative processes, particularly Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. Our team consists of scientists from various disciplines, including computer science, mathematics, biology, chemistry, engineering, physics, and medicine, working together to advance science and society.
We utilize human stem cells for in vitro modeling of neurodegeneration, developing novel, complex organoid and assembloid models for the human brain, with a main disease model being Parkinson's disease.
In this project, we seek a postdoctoral researcher interested in the role of aged microglia in Parkinson's Disease.
Your profile should include a strong background in human stem cell research, experience in high content imaging, multi electrode array technology, or reprogramming somatic cells into pluripotency, along with computational image analysis and aging research skills.
As a successful candidate, you will take leadership and responsibility for this demanding project, contributing to an international team passionate about research, acquiring new skills, and advancing our understanding of neurodegenerative diseases.
We offer a unique opportunity to be part of a multilingual and international environment at a modern institution with a personal atmosphere, close ties to industry, and access to high-quality equipment.
