Electro-Functional Systems Engineer Instrument (m/f/d)
Your Tasks
1. Coordinate and lead engineering teams composed of engineers from multiple technical disciplines such as
2. Instrument Software, FDIR and Operational, Control Engineering, Focal Plane and Detector, Electronics,
3. Electrical Interfaces and Harness, EMC, AIT
4. Support the definition of Instrument requirements related to Electro-Functional technical disciplines and evaluate the compliance of design solutions
5. Conduct technical trade studies
6. Develop and refine the Instrument Electrical Design and Concept of Operation, based on customer requirements and company heritage
7. Maintain Instrument Documentation ( Software Systems Specification, Design Description, ICD, VCD, Flight
8. Operational Manual and Flight Procedures, …)
9. Identify potential risks in the design and implement mitigation strategies
10. Define and maintain Electro-Functional budgets incl. margins ( Power Consumption and Dissipation, Data, Timing, Accuracy, EMC, …)
11. Support the allocation and flow-down of lower-level subsystem requirements and budgets, ensuring they are updated throughout the program. Challenge lower-level Design and Compliances
12. Define and be responsible for Electro and Functional verification activities (Test Bench, Test Specifications, Test
13. Monitoring and Execution, Test Report … ). Contribute to TRRs, PTR and TRBs
14. Represent Instrument Engineering during the different Design Reviews, Progress Reports in front of Supplier and Customer chain
15. Support the evaluation and management of deviations and non-conformances. Assist in implementing agreed changes to designs and deliverables
Your Qualifications
16. University/polytechnic degree or PhD in Physics or Engineering, ideally in Systems Engineering with a focus on one or more Electro-Functional disciplines
17. Professional experience in design, development, and verification activities for space projects, preferably in payload projects within the Electro-Functional area
18. Good understanding of Instrument Systems Architecture and Instrument Operations
19. Good understanding in Instrument Integration and Test activities
20. Organized and structured approach to tasks with a high degree of motivation
21. Willingness to engage in system- and unit-level verification activities
22. Strong focus on achieving progress through solution-oriented thinking, with the ability to meet goals under schedule pressure
23. Strong communication skills, combined with the ability to work effectively in international and multidisciplinary teams
24. Experience in leading Engineering Team, or Suppliers
25. Fluent in English, both written and spoken; German language skills are a plus
