Senior Financial Accountant (F/M/D)
As Senior Financial Accountant at Aptiv EDS, you will play a key role in controllership over assigned entities and support the Finance Manager with complex transactions overview. You will work within the EMEA Corporate Finance Team and report directly to the Finance Manager.
Your Role includes
1. Maintain US GAAP and local ledgers including the preparation and/or review of related journal entries and reconciliations.
2. Prepare and review financial and accounting analysis involving complex transactions including but not limited to general accounting, fixed assets, intercompany and financial reporting activities/transactions.
3. Preparation of Standard Operating Procedures & Flow charts for processes in scope.
4. Review month end close and ensure compliance with local accounting standards and policy.
5. Perform the local GAAP accounting close.
6. Local and US GAAP Account reconciliations.
7. Coordination of calendar with external auditors, tax department and service providers.
8. Manage the statutory reporting calendar.
9. Strong ability to develop initial positions / views to complex problems on their own.
10. Support the process of corporate income tax provision calculation and income tax return.
11. Constantly look for improvement opportunities in the area of direct responsibility, but not limited to and drive implementation (compliance, quality and process efficiency).
12. Serves as an escalation point of contact to resolve complex issues.
13. Ability to work independently at times as well as closely and successfully with professionals of different backgrounds and cultures.
14. Work closely with senior stakeholders from Tax, Treasury, Legal Departments.
15. Strong time management and organization skills with the ability to manage a number of projects at any one time and deliver on commitments.
16. Support the EMEA corporate and accounting teams in ensuring compliance with country reporting rules.
Your Background
17. Experienced (4-5 year PQE) qualified accountant. ACA, ACCA or CPA qualification – preferably Big4/Top10 trained within audit.
18. Strong technical skills with the ability to understand complex accounting issues and models.
19. Excellent attention to detail.
20. Ability to work as part of a dynamic leadership team to collaboratively solve complex problems innovatively.
21. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) with the ability to interact well with people of various backgrounds and levels.
22. Strong Excel skills.
23. Experience with SAP or similar would be an advantage.
