Research Associate (all genders)
Molecular Biomarker
Full-time and permanent
to join our team and contribute to our collaborative drug discovery projects.
Responsibilities:
1. Apply immunoassays and other molecular and cellular techniques across various technology platforms to support biomarker and drug discovery projects
2. Independently design, plan, and conduct experiments; analyze and interpret complex data sets
3. Develop, optimize, and validate new assay methods, including the implementation of protocols based on scientific literature
4. Contribute scientific expertise to internal and external translational research projects
5. Prepare clear documentation, data summaries, and presentations for internal stakeholders and external clients
6. Train, guide, and collaborate with technical staff; coordinate day-to-day lab activities
7. Actively support project planning, workflow improvements, and implementation of new processes across teams
8. Contribute to scientific proposals and client communications; present project results at internal or client meetings
9. Stay current with relevant scientific literature and industry developments
10. Support the group leader in scientific coordination, people development, and business development efforts
Qualifications:
11. Ph.D. in a Life Sciences discipline (e.g., biology, neuroscience, biochemistry)
12. Solid understanding of molecular biology, cell biology, and disease mechanisms
13. Hands-on experience with biomarker assay development and validation (e.g., ELISA, MSD, SMCxPRO, Luminex, Jess, RT-qPCR, NGS)
14. Proven ability to translate scientific literature into experimental protocols
15. Strong data analysis and scientific interpretation skills
16. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex tasks and prioritize independently
17. Excellent communication and organizational skills; confident in presenting scientific data
18. Experience in coordinating lab activities and supporting technical staff
19. A collaborative and proactive mindset with a high level of reliability and ownership
20. Fluency in English (written and spoken); German language skills are a plus
Further ideal qualifications:
21. Initial postdoctoral or industrial research experience
22. Knowledge of large data handling and visualization approaches
23. Experience contributing to client-facing proposals or project presentations
