WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Our European Legal and Compliance team supports all Panasonic units across the EMEA region. In this position you will be a part of Panasonic Europe’s Compliance team and will report to Chief Compliance Officer in Brussels. The European Compliance team is international and cross-location and the possible location for this position could be any of Panasonic Europe’s offices in Amsterdam, Barcelona, Bracknell, Brussels, Hamburg, Warsaw or Wiesbaden.
In this role, you will work on overall monitoring of legal developments and impact on compliance efforts, overall risk assessment and policy follow-up in particular for sustainability, digital topics, such as AI and cybersecurity, and new legal risks, as well as risk assessments overall, investigations and monitoring. You will work in close collaboration with European Legal & Compliance Team, other Panasonic Europe departments, our HQ in Japan and business units both in the EMEA region and in Japan. As part of the team, your tasks will be as following:
1. Overall monitoring of legal developments, assessment of related risks and impact on compliance efforts for new legislation in general, in particular as relates to Sustainability, digital topics and other new legislation.
2. Design and definition of policies, processes, template contractual clauses and/or guidance to secure compliance on sustainability related laws and regulations, especially as relates to supply chain, as well as on digital topics and other new laws/risks.
3. Advice and input to Panasonic group entities on sustainability, digital topics and new laws / risks.
4. Guidance for local entities on responses to and legal assessment on received inquiries from customers, suppliers, partners, NGO´s and governmental authorities in respect of Sustainability and other legal topics, as well as internal consultation where needed.
5. Communication and training on the relevant matters within the organization
6. Support on carrying out compliance investigations
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
7. You hold an above-average degree as a fully qualified lawyer (m/f/d) in one of the EU jurisdictions or in the UK.
8. You have already gained solid experience in working with compliance matters, either inhouse or in a law firm. Experience in sustainability legal matters would be preferred.
9. Excellent communication and organizational skills
10. Ability to work independently, reliability and readiness to take over own initiative
11. Experience in working cross-border and cross-department would be an advantage
12. Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of other European languages and/or Japanese would be a plus
