Our client is a European start-up specializing in electronic warfare and precision localization technologies within the defense sector.
Key points of the position:
As part of a growing engineering team and in close collaboration with Embedded Software Engineers, you will report to the CTO and be responsible for developing the hardware platforms that power next-generation UWB systems for military applications.
As an Embedded Hardware Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
* Designing high-density, multi-layer PCBs for high-speed signal applications (up to 9 GHz)
* Working on complex board layouts in the 50 Ohm domain with single-ended signals
* Supporting hardware bring-up and integration with embedded software
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams on system architecture and component selection
* Running simulations and validating signal integrity
* Creating and maintaining comprehensive hardware documentation
Technical environment:
* Typical PCB stack-up:
6 layers
* Frequencies:
High-speed signals up to 9 GHz
* ECAD tools:
KiCAD or Altium
Necessary skills:
* At least 8–10 years of experience in embedded hardware development
* Proven expertise in high-density PCB layout and high-speed signal design
* Familiarity with UWB or RF systems is a strong plus
* Experience with signal integrity and power integrity simulations
* Rigor, autonomy, and a collaborative mindset
* A defense clearance will be necessary for this position — candidates must hold German or Austrian citizenship
