W2 professorship for the field of Business Psychology
The professorship shown above is to be filled for the winter term 2027/2028 in the Department Business School at the Main Campus in Trier.
Tasks
The range of responsibilities associated with this position primarily includes teaching in the field of business psychology, with a particular focus on health-promoting work design and change management. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to teach courses on core areas of psychology. These include General Psychology (Perception, Memory, Thinking and Language), Developmental and Educational Psychology, Research Ethics and Academic Writing as well as Communication Psychology. A willingness and ability to assume responsibility for additional courses in the Bachelor´s and Master´s programs oft he department, including those beyond the candidate´s primary area of expertise, is also expected.
Courses are to be offered in German and if required also in English.
In addition to a strong commitment to teaching, active participation in the university’s academic self-governance is expected.
The state of Rhineland-Palatinate and Trier University of Applied Sciences support a supervision model that requires a high level of faculty presence at the university.

For this professorship, we are looking for a committed person, who has gained substantial professional experience in a responsible role outside the higher education sector and be motivated to contribute this expertise to teaching and applied research fort he benefit of our students after completing a university degree in psychology or business psychology.
A completed undergraduate degree in (business) psychology and a doctoral qualification in (business) psychology are required. Extensive professional experience in a position of responsibility outside academia is expected.
Candidates must demonstrate substantial experience in at least one of the following areas of specialization:
* „analysis, design and evaluation of organizational change processes“ and/or
* „health-promoting and future-oriented work design“.
Teaching will be mainly conducted in German, therefore very good proficiency in German (at least level C1) is required.
In addition to the general requirements under civil service law, the minimum requirements for appointment are:
1. a successfully completed university degree in the above-mentioned requirements,
2. pedagogical skills, which are usually demonstrated by experience in teaching, training, or relevant further training in university teaching,
3. special ability for academic work, usually demonstrated by a qualified doctorate, and
4. in addition, special achievements in the application or development of scientific findings and methods in at least five years of relevant professional practice, of which at least three years must have been spent outside the university sector.
The appointment is made as a tenured civil servant if the relevant legal requirements are met.
