Electrical Site Manager | Major Industrial Programme
Mannheim Region, Germany | Long-Term Contract
ENG Bauen is supporting the delivery of a large-scale industrial programme in Western Germany, focused on advanced manufacturing and high-integrity process systems.
We are seeking a Electrical Site Manager to lead the electrical safety, temporary power governance, and LV/MV switching operations for a major greenfield construction project entering its main execution phase.
This is a critical site-based position responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and reliable operation of all temporary and early-permanent electrical systems. The successful candidate will act as the responsible electrical authority for the project, overseeing switching activities, safety documentation, contractor interfaces, and DGUV/VDE compliance across the full construction lifecycle.
The role offers long-term engagement through construction, energisation, and commissioning on one of Germany’s highest-value and most high-profile industrial programmes. It represents a strong opportunity for an electrical specialist to secure a long-term contract assignment expected to run for the next two year
Key Responsibilities
* Lead electrical safety governance as the designated responsible electrical specialist (VEFK).
* Develop and enforce site electrical safety rules, switching procedures, and operational instructions.
* Oversee the full lifecycle of temporary construction power—including distribution boards, cabling, transformers, grounding, and protection systems.
* Plan, approve, and execute LV/MV switching operations, energisation sequences, and isolations.
* Produce switching plans, risk assessments, and method statements.
* Collaborate with engineering teams on SLD reviews, load studies, protection settings, and QA/inspection activities.
Ideal Candidate
* Certified Elektrofachkraft (EFK) with eligibility to serve as VEFK under DGUV/VDE requirements.
* Recognised LV/MV switching authorization (Schaltberechtigung).
* 10+ years’ experience in electrical safety, switching operations, or site electrical management.
* Strong background managing Baustrom systems and temporary construction power distribution.
* Proven ability to lead safety governance on large industrial, pharmaceutical, biotech, or semiconductor projects.
* Deep understanding of German electrical regulations and European VDE/IEC standards.
* German language preferred; strong English required.
* EU work eligibility required.
