Your new role
As our new Senior EIA Consultant (m/f/d) you will be part of the Environment & Health (E&H) Department in Germany and also part of a global network of EIA practitioners within our E&H division. Our existing EIA team in Germany covers local infrastructure, rail and onshore wind projects and also international assignments related to project finance. It is an exciting time to join us as we are now rolling out sector approaches for Rail and Energy, which pulls together all our disciplines, to align and streamline our service to our clients- you can be a part of its success!
Your key responsibilities will be:
1. Project Management: Overseeing the entire EIA process from start to finish, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
2. Assessment and Analysis: Conducting detailed assessments and analyses of environmental impacts for various projects, including data collection and interpretation.
3. Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring all EIA activities comply with local, national, and international environmental regulations and standards.
4. Stakeholder Engagement: Communicating effectively with clients, regulatory bodies, and public stakeholders, including organizing and leading public consultations and meetings.
5. Report Preparation: Writing comprehensive EIA reports, including Environmental Statements (ES), that summarize findings and recommendations.
6. Technical Guidance: Providing technical guidance and recommendations to clients on minimizing negative environmental impacts.
7. Team Leadership: Leading and mentoring junior consultants and project teams, ensuring high-quality work and professional development.
8. Business Development: Identifying new business opportunities, preparing proposals, and securing contracts for EIA services.
About you
9. Previous experience in delivering EIAs for infrastructure/transport projects and being familiar with the relevant German Regulations
10. A degree (or equivalent), in a relevant environmental discipline, with a strong emphasis on EIA and/or similar
11. Postgraduate qualification in environmental science/planning (or related field of study)
12. Fluent in German and very good English skills
