At the heart of our success are our state-of-the-art separation systems. These systems ensure that satellites withstand the rigors of launch and are reliably deployed into orbit from the launch vehicle. Our engineering team is responsible for the testing, validation, and quality assurance of these critical systems, from production to deployment in space.


To continuously improve the efficiency, reliability and scalability of these processes, we are looking for a QA Engineer to join our team and help drive the evolution of our workflows. The ideal candidate for this role has a background in space technology, with experience in satellite launch and quality control. You are an excellent communicator and team player and are passionate about being part of a dynamic team that is driving the satellite industry forward.

Your role is based at our JFH – Engineering Office in Charlottenburg.



Your mission

* Define, document, and maintain test and quality processes and documentation in collaboration within the engineering team to ensure repeatability, traceability, and compliance with internal and customer requirements.

* Ensure Exolaunch products comply with internal specifications, customer requirements, and applicable standards.

* Ensure that test procedures, work instructions, and inspection plans are complete, controlled, and properly released prior to execution.

* Monitor adherence to internal processes and standards and support corrective actions where deviations are identified.

* Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing reliability, reducing process variability, and scaling operational efficiency.

* Develop and maintain externally facing documentation, including user manuals and operational procedures.

* Support test planning, execution, and reporting by defining quality checkpoints, inspection criteria, and acceptance requirements.

* Contribute to the selection, deployment, and improvement of quality and process tools, software, and data management systems.

* International travel to support technical activities can be expected.


Your profile

* Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field. Preferred is a background in space engineering.

* At least two years of experience in quality control of space hardware and associated space standards (e.g. ECSS), particularly around mechanisms and structures. QA experience in other industries is also welcomed.

* Experience in working hands-on with hardware.

* Excellent written and spoken English.

* Excellent technical communication skills.

* Experience in working with CAD software such as Solidworks.

* Positive and proactive self-starter attitude and ability to work in a highly integrated team setting.

* Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

* Flexibility for frequent travel, occasionally at short notice.

Location Requirement: This role is based in Berlin. Candidates must either currently reside in Berlin or be open to relocating.
