The position
As the Director Medical Affairs Rare Disease / Department Manager, your main role will be to provide medical-scientific support for rare diseases and related scientific information for internal and external stakeholders. You will initiate and implement medical-scientific and strategic projects, collaborate on pipeline development, and support market launch of new products in rare diseases, especially in hemostaseology. This position reports to the Vice President Clinical Medical and Regulatory (CMR), Germany, and involves managing a team of 6 to 8 members.
Your main responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
1. Providing medical-scientific expertise to support products in the market, business ideas, and strategic initiatives within the Germany region, including pipeline and market access processes.
2. Establishing and executing the scientific communication strategy for rare diseases, including communication plans across clinical trial phases and providing input to clinical trials and real-world evidence (RWE) plans.
3. Driving Scientific Recruitment and Retention (SRR) activities, including engaging with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and integrating patient perspectives through Advisory Boards.
4. Defining and implementing publication strategies, including RWE publications, and providing medical education through scientific meetings and symposia. Building relationships with international professional associations.
5. Providing medical guidance via training and internal communication, and supporting digital interaction and information systems within CMR areas.
Qualifications
* A university degree in a relevant field, such as MD, Pharma D, or Ph.D. in Life Sciences.
* Several years of experience in the research-based pharmaceutical industry, particularly in medical-pharmaceutical information.
* Strong leadership skills and scientific expertise in medicine, especially in hemostaseology and endocrinology.
* Proficiency in English and German is required; good analytical and entrepreneurial skills are a plus.
* Experience in project management and digital communication, with a background in cross-functional teamwork.
