The lab serves as a competence center for system-level RF validation in the sub-THz spectrum (≥ 100 GHz), contributing to next-generation innovations including automotive radar, robotics, and 6G communications. Job Description Key Responsibilities Support the development and automation of RF and communications test solutions. Design, build, and maintain mechanical prototypes and fixtures for RF test setups. Execute RF measurements and perform validation tasks with a strong understanding of high-frequency principles. Develop and integrate RF and mechanical systems for automated test execution and improved lab workflows. Analyze, debug, and troubleshoot issues across software, hardware, and measurement equipment. Contribute to continuous improvement of the lab’s automation architecture, including mechanical and RF components. Design and develop hardware and software tools to enhance lab efficiency. Support feasibility studies and prototyping for RF systems and mechanical demonstrators. Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure smooth system integration. Document procedures and maintain records in accordance with ISO9001/IATF16949 standards. Candidate Profile Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, or related field. Hands-on experience with robotics (e.g., collaborative robots, motion control systems). Strong mechanical design and prototyping skills (CAD, 3D printing, machining). Solid knowledge of RF measurement techniques and equipment (e.g., VNAs, spectrum analyzers). Programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or similar scripting languages; experience with automation frameworks is an advantage. Familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., HFSS, SystemVue) and data analysis workflows. Structured, solution-oriented, and quality-focused working style. Strong communication skills and ability to operate in multidisciplinary environments. Fluent in English; German language skills are a plus. Willingness to travel internationally (~2–4 weeks/year).
