Security Engineer – Cloud & OpenStack (m/f/d)
Salary Range: +€90k depending on qualifications
Location: High flexibility for remote work with occasional on-site presence in Hamburg
🔧 Your Tasks
* Design, implement, and continuously enhance security policies and processes in cloud environments, with a primary focus on OpenStack.
* Identify and assess vulnerabilities across complex cloud infrastructures and develop remediation strategies.
* Conduct proactive threat detection using methods like penetration testing, threat modeling, and vulnerability assessments.
* Provide expert consultation and support to internal departments on security and data protection in cloud systems.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements (e.g., BSI IT-Grundschutz, GDPR, internal compliance frameworks).
* Contribute to the creation and documentation of security-focused architectural concepts within broader technology domains.
🎯 What You Bring to the Table
* Degree in (business) informatics or a comparable qualification with a specialization in IT security.
* At least 3 years of hands-on experience in IT security, particularly within cloud infrastructures.
* Solid knowledge of cloud security technologies, including IAM, firewalls, encryption protocols, and virtualized security environments.
* Practical experience with OpenStack security components such as Keystone (identity management) and Barbican (secrets management).
* Strong background in executing penetration tests and using techniques such as threat modeling and risk assessments.
* Ideally, familiarity with IT baseline protection per BSI standards and emergency management practices.
