Biogas Project Engineer – Electrical Engineering

They develop customized solutions to reduce emissions, recover resources, and contribute to a circular economy. Whether it's generating renewable electricity, producing biomethane for transport, or recovering organic fertilizers, their projects are built for performance, sustainability, and long-term impact.
Due to expansion, they’re looking for a Project Engineer – Electrical Engineering to join their team and help shape the technical backbone of renewable energy projects. This role is ideal for an engineer passionate about sustainable technology, electrical systems integration, and energy transformation, someone who thrives in dynamic project environments and wants to make a tangible environmental impact.
Responsibilities
* Independently plan and design electrical engineering systems for medium and low-voltage applications across renewable energy and environmental technology projects
* Develop concept designs and basic engineering packages for electrical systems within biogas plants, waste treatment facilities, combined heat and power (CHP) units, and ORC (Organic Rankine Cycle) power plants
* Prepare detailed technical specifications and procurement documents for the sourcing of materials and services (e.g. control panel fabrication, cabling, and on-site installations)
* Review and validate electrical designs and documentation submitted by external suppliers and service providers
* Coordinate effectively with internal project teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems within project timelines
* Support on-site activities including installation supervision and commissioning of electrical systems to ensure quality and compliance with project standards
* Assist with tender preparation, cost estimation, and approval processes, including technical input on grid connection and feed-in requirements
Requirements
* Degree in Electrical Engineering from a university or university of applied sciences (TU/FH), or an equivalent qualification
* Ideally, prior experience in planning and designing electrical systems, preferably within project-based plant engineering
* Strong communication skills in both German and English, written and spoken
* Confident, professional demeanor with the ability to represent the company effectively in technical discussions and stakeholder interactions
* Willingness to travel for project coordination, site visits, and commissioning activities
* Possession of a valid Class B driver’s license
