As we continue to expand rapidly across Germany, we are looking for a hands-on yet strategic Operations Manager Germany to strengthen our local organisation and to play an active part of realizing our growth.
The Role
You will be responsible for ensuring excellence of our six German locations (with more to come). As the primary point of contact, sparring partner, and coach for all colleagues on-site your role combines day-to-day leadership, process optimization, and ownership of new branch openings
You'll report directly to the Managing Director Germany, and collaborate closely with the German team and our international Ops colleagues.
Your Threefold Responsibility
1. Day-to-day leadership
2. Lead and coordinate the daily operations across our existing and future German locations.
3. Safeguard and improve operational KPIs (quality, efficiency, customer satisfaction, safety).
4. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, commercial, and security procedures.
5. Foster a culture of continuous learning, accountability and alignment with our core values.
6. Create a positive team atmosphere and promote employee engagement and well-being.
7. Maintain a strong customer focus—our current NPS score of 75 sets the benchmark.
8. Project-Based Work
9. Document and standardize processes and procedures.
10. Further refine / optimize processes to continuously enhance customer experience.
11. Prepare the organization for further scaling and professionalization as we grow.
12. Support cross-country operational initiatives and promote best practice sharing.
13. Expansion
14. Take ownership of opening of new German locations after handover from construction team
15. Select, hire, and onboard new colleagues for CitySafes.
16. Ensure a strong operational start of new branches
17. Set up, organize and carry out training programs for new and existing team members.
About You
You combine hands-on execution with a strategic mindset, and you thrive in a dynamic, growing organisation. You are a natural team player who enjoys being close to the branches and at the same time keeping an eye on the broader strategic, operational picture.
You Are:
* Hands-on, proactive, and not afraid to dive into the details.
* A strong strategic thinker, able to document processes, refine and further shape processes in a fast-growing company.
* Experienced in (strategic) operations of retail or multi-location operations (e.g., management traineeship at ALDI, Lidl, REWE, etc.).
* A people person, comfortable training, coaching and helping the branch colleagues.
* A team player who actively contributes to a positive working culture.
* Detail-oriented and comfortable managing and improving KPIs.
* Someone with high standards, strong ownership, and personal initiative.
* Highly customer-focused, with a clear understanding of service excellence.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's or Master's degree.
* Minimum 3 years of relevant operations experience, ideally in retail, FMCG, logistics, or grocery chain operations.
* Based in the Cologne (preferred) or Frankfurt area.
* Willing to travel across Germany regularly.
