Job Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the daily organization of the work floor and leads a team of warehouse operators, logistics operators, and administrative support staff. They are responsible for ensuring day-to-day follow-up. The main focus is on promoting team unity, improving daily efficiency, and monitoring logistics activities within the warehouse and in the supply chain to production based on needs
Besides its managerial role, the scope of the Warehouse Supervisor also includes hands-on activities on the workfloor, acting as an inhouse expert on all warehouse operations
Job Responsibilities
1) Inventory Management
* Keeping accurate records of pharmaceutical products
* Managing stock levels
* Ensuring proper storage conditions
2) Distribution and Logistics
* Overseeing receiving, storage, and dispatch
* Coordinating with procurement, sales, and logistics teams
* Ensuring timely order fulfillment
3) External Warehouse Management
Managing external warehouses as extensions of internal operations, ensuring compliance, quality, and timely material flow:
1. Responsible for workload allocation, follow-ups, and team organization (leave planning) to ensure timely delivery of requested materials, in accordance with established quality standards. Developing and maintaining procedures and themes. Keeping training plans up to date and monitoring them (training gaps)
2. Coordinates and monitors safety and GMP regulations, compliance with established process/product standards, order and cleanliness of the workplace and the machines. LPAs and 5S spot checks.
3. Maintains team motivation and oversees communication and coordination within the team. They are responsible for the recruitment, training (on- the- job and job-specific), coaching, growth, and evaluation of their team members. They ensure the team has the necessary competencies and empower operators to reach their full potential.
4. Ensures smooth communication (lateral and upward) and collaboration with colleagues from other departments (procurement / production / planning / maintenance / engineering / quality / facility).
5. Collects the necessary information weekly and communicates this at the weekly meeting in order to achieve the plant objectives together.
6. Think lean in simplifying and standardizing processes and flows and improving management systems, and propose changes to the logistics manager as a result. This person translates the production/logistics processes into business and functional requirements.
7. And he/she helps to carry out the necessary testing and adjustment of procedures/way of working for the change implementation.
8. He/she is involved in planning and organizing the maintenance of resources, cleaning schedules, and projects to integrate new equipment into the logistics flow. Their project responsibilities include developing procedures, co-organizing test runs, and training their employees.
9. He/she actively manages the daily operations on the shop floor (Tier 1, Tier 2, LPA1, 5S, and TPM). He/she reports the necessary key performance indicators (KPIs) orally and in writing and maintains the team's basic administration.
10. Backup Material Logistics Manager in terms of reporting.
Profile description:
* A bachelor's degree or an equivalent higher education qualification
* A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a managerial position (people management)
* Strong communication and organizational skills
* Extensive analytical and technical skills
* Ability to acquire in-depth knowledge of production flows and processes and quality requirements
* Being able to work pragmatically and methodically
* Experience with Lean techniques (5S, Gemba, value stream mapping)
* A People Manager who can make his team achieve results
* Flexible person who can drive changes on the work floor
* Good knowledge of English, German is a plus
* Extensive knowledge of SAP and the ability to train others
