As a Source-to-Pay (S2P) Specialist within Novartis Business Services (NBS), you will be a vital part of our Finance Reporting & Accounting (FRA) organization. Your role is pivotal in ensuring that sourcing, ordering, and invoice processing operate smoothly, compliantly, and with a clear service mindset.The S2P Systems Specialist ensures stability, optimization, and compliance of Procure to Pay systems. This role focuses on system configuration, issue resolution, and process improvement across the S2P lifecycle, with a strong emphasis on SAP and VIM platforms. Job Description Responsibilities: System & Process Management Maintain and optimize S2P systems (SAP, VIM) to support operational excellence. Configure workflows, approval hierarchies, and system parameters in alignment with business needs. Collaborate with IT and external vendors to resolve system-related issues and implement enhancements. Compliance & Controls Ensure system compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standards (e.g., SOX). Support audit processes by preparing system documentation and walkthroughs. Continuous Improvement Process Optimization: Proactively identify inefficiencies or bottlenecks in the S2P system landscape and propose solutions to streamline workflows, reduce manual interventions, and enhance user experience. Automation & Innovation: Collaborate with automation teams to implement technologies such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Optical Character Recognition (OCR), and e-invoicing solutions. Evaluate emerging tools and trends to drive digital transformation within the S2P function. Data-Driven Insights: Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as invoice cycle time, exception rates, and system uptime. Use insights to recommend and implement system or process enhancements. Change Management: Support change initiatives by documenting new processes, updating training materials, and communicating system updates to stakeholders. Ensure smooth adoption of new tools and features across the organization. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Procurement, Finance, IT, and Compliance teams to align system improvements with business goals. Participate in global forums and working groups to share best practices and contribute to enterprise-wide User Feedback Loop: Gather feedback from end-users and stakeholders to continuously refine system functionality and usability. Act as a bridge between operational teams and technical developers to ensure enhancements meet business needs. Stakeholder Engagement Act as a liaison between Procurement, Finance, IT, and business units for system-related topics. Provide training and support to end-users on S2P tools and processes. Manage system-related queries and ensure timely resolution of issues. Essential Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, IT, or related field Substantial experience in S2P systems support or operations, ideally in a shared services or multinational environment Proficiency in SAP (MM, FI) and VIM; knowledge of Coupa or Oracle is a plus Familiarity with procurement and finance compliance standards (e.g., SOX).
