About the Role:
As Communications Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind our regional media and public relations strategy. You’ll shape Digital Realty’s brand voice across DACH, managing proactive media outreach, content creation, and reputation-building initiatives. You’ll also play a key part in ensuring our global messages resonate locally helping us tell a consistent and compelling story about our purpose, innovation, and leadership in the digital infrastructure space.
Key Responsibilities:
Media Relations & Strategy
1. Develop and execute a comprehensive media and PR strategy for the DACH region, aligned with EMEA and global objectives.
2. Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, industry analysts, and influencers in the IT and B2B sectors.
3. Lead the creation and localization of press releases, bylined articles, op-eds, and thought leadership content.
4. Monitor, measure, and report on media coverage, sentiment, and brand positioning—using data-driven insights to guide improvements.
5. Support the EMEA PR Counsel by sharing local insights and maximizing regional amplification opportunities.
Corporate & Crisis Communications
6. Act as a trusted advisor in the regional crisis communications team, ensuring alignment with global strategies.
7. Safeguard brand integrity across all external communications and touchpoints.
8. Conduct competitive and market analysis to refine key messages and identify emerging opportunities.
Collaboration & Leadership
9. Partner closely with EMEA Marketing, Legal, Field Marketing, Internal Comms, and other cross-functional teams.
10. Represent DACH communications in global forums and contribute to a collaborative, matrix-driven environment.
11. Support ad hoc translation, content, or storytelling projects as needed.
About You:
You’re a confident, strategic communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, international environment. You love crafting narratives that make complex technology relevant, and you bring both creativity and analytical thinking to your work.
What You’ll Bring
12. 7+ years’ experience in PR, media relations, or corporate communications, ideally in the Tech or B2B industry.
13. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
14. Proven success managing media relations and delivering measurable PR results.
15. Strong network of journalists across DACH and relevant trade media.
16. Excellent writing and storytelling skills in English (business level); German strongly preferred, other European languages a plus.
17. Experience working in global, matrixed organizations.
18. Proactive mindset, collaborative spirit, and flexibility to work across time zones.
19. Willingness to travel occasionally within EMEA for meetings and events.
