Selby Jennings is currently working with an international financial group, and they're seeking a Senior Operational Risk Manager them in their Frankfurt-based office. The role sits within the Operational Risk Management team, which oversees risk frameworks across multiple institutions, including fraud prevention, product and outsourcing risk analysis, and internal control systems.
This will be a hybrid role, with 3 days in office, and 2 days WFH.
Main responsibilities:
* Ensuring consistency in operational risk and ICS methodologies and reporting.
* Implementing regulatory requirements (German and EU) related to risk and controls.
* Managing tools for risk self-assessments, control testing, and incident tracking.
* Conducting control effectiveness checks and developing risk approval processes.
* Preparing reports for management and committees.
* Analyzing group-wide operational risk data and recommending improvements.
* Leading projects related to ICS and broader operational risk topics.
Your profile:
* Degree in economics, business or similarly related fields.
* Proven experience in operational risk, internal controls, compliance, or audit.
* Strong knowledge of ICS frameworks and relevant regulations (e.g. MaRisk, EBA guidelines).
* Skilled in risk assessment, control design, and process analysis.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Fluent in English (C1); German is a plus.
