Job Description
In a nutshell
We’re looking for an experienced Java Software Developer to join our forensic software team. You’ll help build and evolve the tools that support criminal investigations, forensic medicine, and DNA analysis. From backend optimisation to full-stack development, your work will directly contribute to the solving of crimes under investigation.
Where will you be based and what business will you support?
You’ll be based in Dresden, supporting our software solutions used by forensic labs, police departments, and investigative institutions across Europe.
How can you help us?
Software Development & Optimisation
 * Enhance our Java-based software suite built on Eclipse RCP
 * Develop full-stack solutions using JEE, Wildfly, Docker, and PostgreSQL
 * Integrate APIs via REST, SOAP, and other technologies
 * Analyse new requirements and implement scalable solutions
 * Optimise performance and ensure system stability
Agile Collaboration
 * Work closely with cross-functional teams in Scrum or Kanban environments
 * Contribute to sprint planning, reviews, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
Education
 * Degree or vocational training in computer science or a related field
Experience
 * Several years of experience in Java or Kotlin development
 * Solid understanding of software architecture and CI/CD workflows
 * Familiarity with GIT and modern development environments
Skills & Attributes
 * Strong communication skills in German and English
 * Team-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving
