Your Responsibilities
7. Exploring so-called inverse design methods based on data-driven approaches like machine learning to accelerate advanced materials design. In inverse design, optimal material configurations are derived directly from given performance requirements, minimizing the number of material optimization cycles
8. Developing and proposing research projects in the field of inverse design of composite materials & coating technologies in accordance with the Central Research & Technology strategic path
9. Scientific driven research execution with its own responsibility in a transnational organization and within an international network with many academic partners (academics, universities, technology institutes, ...), industrial partners or start-ups
10. Exchange with the entire Airus materials and surface technology ecosystem to maintain and lead the state-of-the art in the respective field
11. Continue to acquire high level technical skills in the materials science area: adopt and use artificial intelligence / machine learning tools, latest data-driven materials design approaches, optimization routines for complex structural aircraft components, etc.
Your Profile:
12. Completed studies in computer science or a comparable qualification
13. Several years of work experience in IT / information systems
14. Good understanding of digital materials design & development tools based on artificial intelligence / machine learning with the ability to integrate experimental and numerical test data in the analysis and optimization processes is required
15. Basic understanding of mechanical, thermal, and interfacial properties of simple or multicomponent materials and composites and their multifunctional properties (e.g. thermal, electrical, mechanical) is required
16. Good command of data-driven approaches for solving complex problems in materials science and other research areas
17. Good Knowledge in MS-Office
18. Knowledge in C++ / machine learning / edge computing is a must have
19. Fluent German and English skills both spoken and written
