Help us lead the future of commercial aircraft modifications in our Boeing Global Services (BGS) EASA Modifications IPT (Integrated Project Team). We are looking for an Airworthiness Engineer to lead commercial aircraft certification programs driving safety, regulatory compliance, quality and technical excellence using industry knowledge, experience and best practices to deliver solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations.
The successful candidate will be an integral part of our modification teams who develop, certify and integrate commercial aircraft modification solutions such as cabin interior changes, IFE upgrades and other changes. The candidate will be working directly with EASA, National Airworthiness Authorities, suppliers and customers while collaborating with BGS global engineering and Programme Management teams across multiple time-zones.
Position Responsibilities
1. Develop and oversee Certification Programmes
2. Develop and oversee Compliance Checklists
3. Liaise with the Agency on applications for STCs / Major Design Changes
4. Assist in development of best practice materials for the design organisation, including development / delivery of training.
5. Aid the Head of Design and Chief of Airworthiness in:Monitoring new regulations and GM issued by the AgencyEnsuring that all design activities performed are within the terms of approval as specified in the design organisation approval certificateEnsuring the classification of the changes and repairs designed by the organisation is correctChecking all compliance documents are prepared as necessary to demonstrate compliance with regulations, as well as for completenessDeveloping Root Cause Analysis, Corrective and Preventative actions following internal and external auditsDeveloping Root Cause Analysis, Corrective and Preventative actions relating to Occurrences (failure, malfunction or defect)Implementation of strategy initiatives for improvement of the Design Organisation performance
6. Aid the Chief of Independent Systems Monitoring with technical review of completed projects
7. Assistance / Office of Airworthiness presence at milestone project meetings (ITCM, PDR, CDR)
8. Involvement in Review Boards (Technical and Safety)
9. Occasional domestic and/or international travel may be required
Required Knowledge/Experience
10. Minimum 10-years aviation/aerospace industry experience with 5 years within an EASA Part 21 Design environmentPrevious experience as an EASA CVE in a DOA desirable
11. Knowledge of commercial aircraft interiors is essential
12. Able to demonstrate a working knowledge of EASA regulatory and airworthiness requirements including (E)TSO, CS-25, CS-25, CFR Part 25 & Part 21J design organisations
Education Requirements
13. A recognized aeronautical or engineering degree, however other internationally recognized aeronautical qualifications will be considered based on technical knowledge and experience
14. Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken
