* Support from an interdisciplinary team of fibre composite, simulation and process experts
* Direct contact and exchange with the scientific community
Your tasks and responsibilities
* Explore and evaluate a range of optimization algorithms (e.g., metaheuristic, gradient-based, hybrid) for their effectiveness in complex composite material design challenges.
* Integrate promising optimization algorithms into our existing Python-based toolbox and Grasshopper-driven workflows for automated Variable Angle Tow (VAT) composite design.
* Apply these integrated algorithms to optimize composite components (2D and 3D), testing their ability to achieve design goals like weight reduction while respecting structural and manufacturing (AFP) constraints.
* Conduct in-depth benchmarking and comparative analysis of different optimization algorithms' performance, efficiency, and robustness within the established automated design environment.
* Refine path planning and material deposition strategies for composite materials by leveraging the insights gained from applying advanced optimization techniques.
* Collaborate closely with our team, sharing your findings on algorithm performance and contributing to the enhancement of our design and optimization processes.
* Document your implementations and analyses, contributing to best practices for applying optimization algorithms in automated composite design for aerospace.
