Working at Freudenberg: We will wow your world!
Responsibilities:
A structured data management is essential for the successful implementation of AI projects. This thesis aims to design and evaluate data strategies to improve data availability, quality, and structure in the research and development of mechanical seal products. The work will lay the foundation for future AI and ML projects by analyzing existing data sources, identifying integration potentials, and developing a concept for a scalable data management system. The following tasks are planned:
1. Analysis of the existing data landscape (testing, simulation, sensor data)
2. Assessment of data quality and accessibility
3. Development of a data strategy (data harmonization, role distribution)
4. Conceptualization of a data management system (tool comparison, infrastructure)
5. Change management and implementation recommendations (user acceptance, data protection, training)
Qualifications:
6. You are currently pursuing a Master's degree – ideally in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computational Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
7. You are passionate about digital transformation, data management, and optimizing ETL processes
8. You have practical experience in data analysis (e.g., with Python, R or SQL) and are familiar with common tools
9. You think strategically, understand product development processes, and have a good sense for change processes in companies
10. You communicate confidently in German and English – and enjoy working in international teams and with various stakeholders
11. Initial practical experience in projects or internships related to data management, digital transformation or R&D is advantageous
12. Knowledge of cloud technologies, experience with Azure is a plus.
13. The master’s thesis is a mandatory component of your studies. You are available for at least five months, with six months being ideal.
