Head of Information Systems and Technology Department :
UMS Head of IS / IT is responsible for leading the company’s information systems and technology function, ensuring operational reliability, security, and alignment with UMS business needs. This role combines hands‑on technical oversight with strategic planning and team leadership to support the company’s growth and efficiency.
In addition to leading the IS / IT function, this role also encompasses the responsibilities of the company’s CISO (Chief Information Security Officer), ensuring that cybersecurity, data protection, and regulatory compliance are embedded into all aspects of IT operations.
Key responsibilities:
1. Operational management :
* Ensure availability and performance of infrastructure, networks, and business applications (including MES and ERP)
* Oversee helpdesk and user support across both sites
* Lead cybersecurity and data protection initiatives
* Reinforce operational documentation referential and procedures
* Monitor IT performance through adequate KPIs, and reporting
2. Strategic Planning & Projects
* Define and implementing the IS / IT roadmap in line with company objectives
* Identify and deploying technologies to improve efficiency and support company transformation
* Manage IT budget, investments and vendor relationships
3. Security & Compliance Responsibilities (CISO Scope)
* Define and oversee UMS information security strategy
* Ensure protection of systems, data, and infrastructure against cyber threats
* Manage risk assessments, incident response, and business continuity planning
* Ensure compliance with applicable regulations (e.g. GDPR) and internal policies
4. Team Leadership
* Lead, support, and develop the IS / IT team (17 people)
* Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing between UMS sites
* Further develop a service-oriented and result driven culture
This position :
* is located in one of the main UMS location (i.e. : Villebon, or Ulm) and requires travels between UMS locations or to visit suppliers.
* includes the management of a team of 17 people split between France (Villebon s / Yvette) and Germany (Ulm).
* and reports to UMS Chief Operating Officer (UMS Board Member)
Required skills & Experience :
* Proven experience in IT leadership roles, ideally in SMEs or multi‑site environments
* Strong technical background in infrastructure, systems, and cybersecurity
* Experience managing small teams and coordinating across locations
* Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
* Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities
* Strategic thinking with hands‑on execution
* Excellent organizational and leadership skills
* Very good communication and interpersonal abilities
* BSc / BA in computer science, engineering or relevant field ; MSc / MA will be preferred
* Fluent in English. Mastery of French & German is a big plus
