We are seeking an Unreal Engine Simulation Expert to deliver a feasibility study for a giant LED dome immersive display. The existing Unreal model will be used as the baseline; if unsuitable, the expert may create a simplified replacement.
The main objective is to simulate and compare different viewing experiences from positions on a central tower inside the dome.
The deliverable is a report supported by Unreal simulations, visual comparisons, and explanatory materials, focusing on “how many perspectives do I need to see content undistorted at a physical viewing distance of 30 meters to the dome screen”. This role will work closely with the client’s internal core consultant teams.
What you should do:
• Adapt the existing Unreal model (or create a simplified version if needed) to run dome-based simulations.
• Configure cameras and viewports in Unreal to replicate how content appears on a multiple-perspective dome vs a single-perspective dome.
• Simulate viewing experiences from different positions on the central tower, focusing on distortion and clarity at ~30m viewing distance.
• Generate side-by-side comparisons to highlight differences in perspective approaches.
• Render and export video clips, screenshots, and annotated images that document results.
• Produce a final report (with PowerPoint slides as supporting visuals) showing:
a. Setup and methodology.
b. Comparison of multiple- vs single-perspective dome displays.
c. Analysis of the “horizon problem” or other distortion artifacts.
d. Clear conclusion answering the 30m viewing distance question.
What you should have:
Must-Have Skills & Experience
• Hands-on Unreal Engine 4/5 expertise in immersive visualization or simulation.
• Ability to work with 3D assets, textures, and materials/shaders to adapt content to a dome-shaped LED display.
• Experience configuring camera/viewports to simulate curved displays or panoramic rendering.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and present findings visually (PowerPoint, annotated screenshots, side-by-side renders).
Nice-to-Have:
• Prior work with dome-shaped LED displays, fulldome systems, or large-scale immersive environments.
• Familiarity with distortion/perception studies (e.g., horizon effects).
• Knowledge of advanced Unreal rendering techniques (custom materials, post-processing, multi-camera setups).
• Background in simulation, VFX, or creative immersive installations.
Deliverables (subject to the Client)
• Unreal simulation project file(s) (adapted or simplified model).
• Rendered outputs: videos, screenshots, annotated comparisons.
• Final report (Word or PDF) + PowerPoint deck summarizing findings for non-technical stakeholders with A clear, evidence-based answer to: “How many perspectives are needed to see content undistorted at 30m from the dome screen?”
If you are interested and available immediately, we'd like to hear from you.
