We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team in Geesthacht, Germany, with responsibility for supporting additional Sensient locations. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, international environment and contribute to accurate financial reporting and process excellence.
What you’ll do:
1. Manage the full cycle of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment runs, customer billing, and cash applications
2. Support month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
3. Maintain and update the general ledger in accordance with accounting standards and internal policies
4. Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring timely collection and payment processing
5. Collaborate with internal departments, vendors, and stakeholders to resolve accounting and billing queries and discrepancies, while maintaining accurate records.
6. Assist with audits, provide supporting documentation and responding to inquiries, prepare financial statements, and analysis as needed by management
What you’ll bring:
7. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or equivalent years of hands-on accounting experience
8. Fluency in German and English (written and spoken) and French is a plus
9. Proficiency in ERP systems and in Microsoft Excel
10. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
11. High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
