The Market Data team at Allianz Global Investors is responsible for the strategic and operational management of all market data services across the organization. This includes overseeing the procurement service function for Market Data Services, ensuring cost-effective sourcing, and maintaining compliance with internal and external regulatory standards.


As part of the team, the role contributes to the definition and implementation of procurement policies, tools, and processes that support long-term supplier relationships and service-level agreement (SLA) compliance. A key focus is on the continuous analysis and optimization of market data spend, including benchmarking, contract lifecycle management, and risk mitigation.


The function also plays a critical role in Market Data Business Analysis—evaluating data usage, supporting business units with new data requirements, and ensuring license compliance. Through close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external vendors, the team ensures that AllianzGI’s market data infrastructure remains robust, scalable, and aligned with evolving business needs.


This role is based in Frankfurt Germany.

What you will do

• Procurement Strategy & Execution: Define and implement effective strategy, processes, and tools tailored to Market Data Services
• Process Improvement & Governance: Drive continuous improvement of procurement and service delivery processes. Monitor procurement activities for compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements
• Supplier & Contract Management: Manage long-term relationships with key market data vendors. Oversee the full contract lifecycle, including negotiation, renewal, and termination, ensuring timely action on license model changes and contract expirations.
• Cost Management: Analyse AllianzGI’s spend on market data to identify savings opportunities and ensure cost transparency
• Business Support & Advisory: Support internal stakeholders and projects in selecting and contracting appropriate market data services. Provide market research and suitability assessments for new data products and vendors
Scope and Impact
• This role has a broad and strategic scope, covering the full procurement lifecycle of Market Data Services across AllianzGI. It directly impacts cost efficiency, regulatory compliance, and the quality of data services used by investment and operational teams. The role requires close collaboration with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and IT, and contributes to the firm’s overall procurement excellence and vendor governance framework...

What you bring

• Market Data Expertise: Minimum 5 years of proven experience in market data, ideally within financial services or market data environments. Strong understanding of sourcing strategies, contract lifecycle management, and vendor negotiations.
• Market Data Knowledge: Familiarity with market data vendors (e.g. Bloomberg, LSEG), licensing models, and data usage policies. Ability to assess the suitability of new data services and manage license compliance.
• Analytical & Strategic Thinking: Strong analytical skills to evaluate spend data, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support strategic planning. Experience with tools such as Power BI or similar for spend analysis is a plus.
• AI & Automation Awareness: Understanding of how AI and automation can be applied to procurement and market data workflows. Familiarity with AI-driven tools for spend analytics, contract intelligence, or vendor risk scoring is advantageous. Ability to collaborate with data science teams to explore AI use cases in market data sourcing and usage optimization.
• Compliance & Risk Awareness: Solid understanding of compliance requirements related to procurement and third-party risk management. Experience with due diligence processes and risk mitigation strategies is highly valued
• Process Orientation: Demonstrated ability to define, implement, and continuously improve procurement processes and tools.
• Stakeholder Management: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g. Legal, Risk, IT, Business Units) and external vendors. Ability to support business users in selecting and contracting data services.
• Project Support: Experience supporting business and project teams with new data requests, including market research and vendor evaluation.
• Education & Language: University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Fluency in English is required; German is a plus.
