This project will focus on in vitro assays recapitulating human T cell exhaustion, a dysfunctional cell state found in chronic infection and solid tumors. To identify novel regulators in this cell differentiation pathway, we will perform pooled CRISPR screens and controlled knock-out experiments with the goal to identify novel therapeutic strategies. This project will combine several disciplines, including immunology, cell biology, genetics and molecular biology. For more information on the lab, please contact kathrin.schumann@uni-konstanz.de .
Your Responsibilities
* Research in the field of transcriptional regulation of human T cell exhaustion
* Conducting large scale CRISPR screens in human T cells
* Interest in acquiring new skills and knowledge
* Communicating your results by publishing research papers in journals and conferences
* Assist in teaching and supervising BSc and MSc students
Your Competencies
* Master degree in Biology, Life Science, Biochemistry or similar with outstanding result
* Strong motivation and determination
* Enthusiasm for basic science and cell engineering
* Experience in immunology and cell biology is a plus
* Team player skills and enthusiasm to work in a multi-disciplinary, collaborative environment
* Strong written and oral communications skills in English
