(Senior) Process Manager – Billing Transformation (m/f/d)
Location: Essen, Germany (Hybrid – up to 50% remote)
I'm working on a mandate with a client that provides billing and energy services to the real estate sector. They're looking for a (Senior) Process Manager to help reshape their core billing operations.
Please note: this is an operational process redesign role, not an IT or technical systems role. I am looking for someone with a background in management consulting or internal business transformation — strong on process analysis, operating model design, and driving operational change.
The focus is on rethinking and optimising end-to-end processes, driving automation, and preparing the organisation for a more AI-driven future. The work has enterprise-wide impact and involves structural changes across teams both inside and outside of Germany.
You'd join an existing cross-functional squad and report directly to leadership. There's room to grow into a Product Owner role or broader operational leadership over time.
What You'll Do
* Analyse, redesign, and optimise end-to-end billing and field service processes. This is hands-on operational change — not theoretical process mapping or IT system configuration.
* Identify inefficiencies and process breaks, then drive pragmatic solutions — with or without major IT changes.
* Think across system, role, and department boundaries to create seamless workflows.
* Own implementation from concept through to operational embedding.
* Collaborate with operational teams, leadership, and international colleagues.
* Manage (sub-)projects independently.
What They're Looking For
* 3–5+ years of experience, ideally from management consulting with a focus on operational process optimisation.
* Comfortable navigating complex organisational and system structures.
* Consulting mindset: solution-oriented, persistent, and able to drive change without formal authority.
* Strong implementation skills and personal drive.
* Structured, analytical, and pragmatic.
* Fluent German and good English are required.
* Willingness to travel approx. 2–3 days per month (Germany: Essen, Leipzig, Berlin; occasional Poland).
Nice to Have
* Industry background in metering services, field service, utility billing, or real estate.
What's on Offer
* 30 days' holiday, flexible hours, up to 50% remote
* High-impact role with growth potential (Product Owner, Tribe Lead, operational leadership)
* Collaborative, cross-functional team environment
