We’re seeking an experienced and ambitious finance professional to join our Business Finance team supporting Ramboll Germany.

Your new role
As a Project Controller, you’ll be a key financial partner to our project delivery teams—ensuring strong financial governance, accurate project accounting, and actionable insights that enhance project outcomes. You’ll work closely with Project Managers and collaborate with Senior Leaders, acting as a trusted advisor who brings clarity, control, and commercial acumen to every stage of the project lifecycle.
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Proactively manage the financial performance of your project portfolio, driving value through revenue recognition, risk management, working capital optimisation, and project monitoring.
2. Champion financial governance by ensuring compliance with project accounting standards, internal controls, Ramboll’s policies and procedures, tax, statutory and audit requirements.
3. Responsible for Project set-up and ongoing maintenance
4. Contribute to the continuous improvement of Ramboll’s financial processes and systems.
5. Provide financial advice to stakeholders, identifying risks and opportunities early and offering practical, data-driven solutions. This may include participation in tender reviews.
6. Apply an innovative mindset to streamline and enhance financial operations.
7. Support change initiatives with agility, helping teams adapt to evolving business priorities.
8. Build strong, collaborative relationships with Business Controllers, Project Managers, and senior leadership.
9. Partner with our India-based support team to ensure timely and accurate project maintenance and billing.

These include:
10. 5+ years related experience in Project Controlling for Professional Services organisations or Consultancy with advanced skills applying Project Controlling best practices
11. Minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
12. Proficient use of Cost Accounting Systems to run, monitor and bill projects, demonstrating advanced skills in applying Project Controlling best practices
13. Proficient using Office 365, including strong excel skills and good understanding of how to use Power BI or similar
14. Excellent communication in English (written and verbal), interpersonal and organisation skills
15. Critical thinking, strong data-driven analytical skills and a high attention to detail
16. Able to work with a minimum of supervision while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with stakeholders
17. Track record of getting involved in (and perhaps driving) initiatives that drive improvement in your domain
18. Ability to successfully lead meetings in virtual settings where most stakeholders and team members are in different locations
