JOB OPENING
1. Title: FAP Educator
2. Location: Army Community Service (ACS), Vilseck and Grafenwöhr (alternating locations)
3. Start date: September 29, 2025
4. Job Type: Part-Time (PTOC) to Full-Time (40 hours)
PTOC: Hourly Flexible = Substitute and replace personnel for planned and unplanned absences at the ACS office. Personnel should be available on short notice.
QUALIFICATIONS
5. Bachelor’s degree in education or social science from an accredited college or university.
6. Experience in instructing children and adults in life skills topics. Examples of successful experience are as follows: Instructing children, teens, and parents in developing appropriate expectations of each other, relationships, and appropriate interactions in an educational setting.
7. Experience working with individuals who may be reluctant to participate in a self-improvement program (examples: alcoholics, prisoners, welfare recipients in a mandated job-finding class).
8. Fluency in English (speaking, reading, and writing). Exhibit the ability to communicate in the English language, with references and/or a High School/College Diploma or official transcript.
9. Experience utilizing computer programs necessary for accomplishment of duties (i.e., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, internet, and email).
10. Most valuable is one (1) year of experience using these programs in a military setting, such as Army Community Service. The second most valuable would be one (1) year of experience using these programs in an office setting. Satisfactory is six (6) months of experience using these programs in an office setting.
11. Two (2) years of experience with and organization which act towards the prevention of Child and spouse/domestic/intimate partner abuse, for example, an Armed Forces Family Advocacy Program, or two (2) years of experience in Family and Children Services; for example, experience working with child protection services, domestic violence victim advocacy services or women’s shelters.
JOB DESCRIPTION
12. Provide classes and briefings to service members and their families
13. Develop, schedule, prepare for, and instruct classes and briefings
14. Maintained class record forms, information, and reports
15. Develop lesson plans
16. Update existing instruction materials
17. Publicize all aspects of the educator program
18. Administrative support, including data entry, tracking, record keeping, etc.
19. Prepare and manage reports and correspondence
Please note that this opportunity is limited to individuals located near the place of performance and in Germany, preferably associated with the US Military under SOFA status and/or Local Nationals.
