Job DescriptionThe Senior Software Engineer will be working in the Release Management team for our SaaS clients in Region Europe, based in Berlin, Germany.We build, configure, and deploy various software artifacts in test, integration, and production environments. You will be responsible for a defined set of customers and support them during various SDLC phases and go live.Your key tasks Govern the release management processes of specific/assigned Avaloq productsResponsible for software packaging, code merge and log analysis of Avaloq core and front platformsManaging release and building, deploying, versioning code using tools like ICE, GIT, Artifactory and JiraParticipate to definition of yearly Release Calendar for all SaaS clientsCoordinate with internal and external technical teams for deployIssues investigation and troubleshooting: provide installation insight, and approach on addressing installation invalids and errorsBuild-up and disseminate release management know-how to peersTechnical consulting for the setup of the Avaloq Database factory and for Avaloq specific applications (ICE, Smart Client, Integration Robot)Identify places for quality improvement and execution speed upContribution to design and technical documentation for software life cycleCollaboration with specialists of different areas for the implementation of cross-domain activitiesBuild trustworthy relations with internal and external stakeholders as developers, PMs, Test Managers and Client ManagersBeing available for the team on-call service (7x24) QualificationsBachelor’s in Computer Science/Engineering Degree3 to 5 years of Release Management and/or Configuration Management experience, ideally in the banking and financial services industryExperience with Unix, Oracle, SQL, Jenkins, Artifactory, Nexus, Gerrit, Bitbucket or other source code management toolsKnow-how in analysing technical problems and automating recurring administrative activitiesConflict resolution, stakeholder management, experience in multi-cultural matrix teamsGood written and spoken EnglishOpen to work in weekend/shifts and to extended support beyond shifts unscheduled hot fix releasesIt would be a real bonus if you haveKnowledge about Avaloq Front Platform, Mobile Application releasesAvaloq ICE Release Stream creation, cutoverShell scripting, OpenShift, Kubernetes, Container PlatformAgile / Oracle Cloud / ITIL certifiedBe used to fast pace and complex environmentsAt ease in writing technical documentations (e.g., on Confluence)Knowledge of German language, even though not mandatoryIn our experience, Release Managers (Software Release Engineers) who are particularly good at their job share some additional skills that we would also like to find in our future colleagues: being analytical, reliable, service-oriented and with a problem-solver attitude.
