We are the joint data center of the German Pension Insurance Fund, located in Berlin and Würzburg. Your tasks
We operate a large number of Microsoft SQL Server instances in the joint data center: As an expert, you will assume technical responsibility for the Microsoft SQL Server landscape in the joint data center. The position is aimed at individuals who are willing to take on responsibility and represent technical decisions.
* You will be independently responsible for process activities in the service lifecycle with a focus on service strategy and design, thus ensuring the stable and secure operation of the Microsoft SQL Server database systems
* You will coordinate the transfer of new databases into operation and manage deployment activities in compliance with quality criteria. You will define standards and guidelines for the provision and operation of database systems (e.g., for installation and maintenance). You develop binding concepts related to the database system, taking into account IT security requirements and strategic objectives
* You ensure that the systems are documented in an up-to-date, structured, and complete manner
* You participate in company-wide IT projects and also take on their management
* You will provide our customers with comprehensive advice on database-related issues such as authorization and security concepts and translate requirements into implementable technical solutions
* You will initiate and supervise laboratory and test installations, drive forward the automation of operational processes, and support our junior staff
Your profile
* You have either a university degree (bachelor's/diploma/technical college) in a STEM field or a comparable IT qualification or a vocational qualification in IT with several years of practical experience, or many years of comparable practical experience in IT
* You have expert knowledge and several years of practical experience in the administration of the Microsoft SQL Server database system (version 2019 and higher), including various high-availability solutions
* You have in-depth knowledge of programming with T-SQL and PowerShell, as well as a good knowledge of the Windows Server operating system (current version) and Active Directory, including group policies
* Experience in developing automation modules to support database administration with Ansible Playbook, database scripting, and automation technologies is desirable
* You work in a structured, solution-oriented manner and enjoy strategic, conceptual work
* Excellent communication skills (German at least B2 level) as well as a strong sense of responsibility and initiative round off your profile
