Job Description
This role will focus on managing employee relations cases, providing advice and guidance to both managers and employees, and ensuring compliance with employment law and company policies. The individual may handle issues like disciplinary investigations, grievances, performance concerns, and conflict resolution.
The individual will be a subject matter expert in the management of ER cases, providing professional and pragmatic HR support and advice on employee relations (ER) matters, ensuring consistency and fairness, and dealing with a wide range of sensitive and often complex employment issues.
1. Managing formal cases: Handle employee relations cases end to end, including disciplinary and grievance investigations, and other related matters spanning low to high-risk complexity.
2. Providing advice and guidance: Combine employment law expertise with policy knowledge to identify gaps and recommend improvements; work with legal, HR, and other stakeholders while utilizing employee feedback to drive continuous improvement
3. Developing relationships: Build trust and confidence with both managers and employees, provide support and guidance through formal processes and build strong relationships with other stakeholders (legal/external counsel, Compliance team and people partners)
4. Documentation and Case Management: Maintain high standards of case management, prepare high-quality action plans, letters of communication, and investigation reports.
5. Reporting and Data Driven Actions: Develop dashboards, analyze ER metrics to identify trends, reports insights to leadership, and implements targeted solutions through strategic action plans
6. Coaching and mentoring: Coach managers through relevant procedures and help them develop their capacity to handle ER matters; develop and implement training programs for managers and employees on ER topics
7. Promoting positive work environment & culture: Contribute to a positive and productive workplace by addressing issues fairly and transparently.
Qualifications
8. 5+ years of experience in complex ER case management role
9. Knowledge of German / EU employment law - A strong understanding of employment law and best practices in employee relations
10. Strong communication skills - Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with managers, employees, and other stakeholders.
11. Problem solving skills - The ability to identify and resolve complex problems effectively, highly analytical and data driven.
12. Planning & organizational skills - Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively manage the workload.
13. Interpersonal skills - Ability to build relationships, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively with diverse groups of people.
14. A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Management or equivalent
