Title Labor Relations Lead Germany Business HR Officer Title Vice President Location Frankfurt Job Purpose/Overview: This role supports Citi's Labor Relations teams, acting as a crucial link between HR, Employment Law, and Legal departments. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, diplomacy, and prioritization skills, coupled with a deep understanding of German labor laws and regulatory requirements. This position involves managing various projects with often competing deadlines. Key Responsibilities: Labor & Collective Negotiations Implement employee relations strategies to minimize the impact of grievances and labor disputes. Coordinate employee and labor relations programs for policy compliance. Represent the organization in processes and negotiations with the works council. Liaise with managers and employees to resolve grievances and maintain a productive workplace. Ensure employer-employee relationships comply with collective agreements and employment standards. Employment Litigation Partner with Employment Legal and Country HR Officer on litigation processes. Anticipate and advise on potential Employee Relations (ER) issues. Regulatory Advisory (HR and Local Labor Law) Partner with legal teams to respond to labor authorities and regulators. Monitor changes in labor law and advise management; manage the implementation of regulatory changes. Advise on all HR matters under local law. Handle complex employee matters, including dismissals and grievances. Manage disciplinary processes in accordance with global policy. Support investigations and ensure adherence to legislative frameworks. Individual and Collective Dismissals (Terminations) Engage in negotiations for dismissals, including redundancy calculations. Partner with legal teams on involuntary terminations requiring special support. Manage RIF processes and collective dismissals. Policy & Regulation Confirm policy applicability under labor law. Support new local policy development and advise on changes to existing policies. Other Responsibilities Undertake local HR activities across the employee lifecycle. Support key country initiatives and global projects. Experience, skills and capabilities: Qualifications Strong knowledge of German labor law. Understanding of complex matrix structures. Proactive and hands-on mentality. Excellent German and English skills.
