You will be part of the People & Organization (P&O) leadership team and report to the Director P&O Business Engagement. As the Head of P&O Logistics, you are responsible for the core of P&O in our German Logistic Warehouses. We rely on attracting, retaining, and developing diverse, global talent to deliver on our Zalando Group Strategy. The Head of P&O works closely with the business leader of the German Warehouses and the senior leadership team to develop and execute HR strategies supporting organizational growth and health. The HR leader will build an organization and culture that facilitates long-term business scaling through talent acquisition, development, retention, and the adoption of relevant technologies.
WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)
1. Create a unified organization that supports and develops employee engagement, leadership, and organizational development.
2. Lead a team of HR Managers across four to five locations in Germany.
3. Manage strategic partnerships with works councils in Germany, collaborating with our Strategic Employer Relations team.
4. Partner with the Recruiting Leadership Team to build systemic and scalable recruiting programs to meet business hiring goals.
5. Serve as a trusted HR advisor to business leaders, translating business needs into HR plans through strategic engagement.
6. Drive operational excellence and efficiency in HR processes to enable talent hiring and development at scale.
7. Develop and nurture a high-performing team of HR business partners.
You should bring 7-10 years of HR leadership experience, including managing other leaders and developing HR professionals. You must have a strong command of German labor law and experience working with works councils and unions. Skills in organizational design, team effectiveness, and performance management are essential. A passion for logistics and supply chain environments, with industry experience in logistics, production, or automotive sectors, is highly desirable. Fluency in German and English at a business level is required. The primary work location is Berlin, with 15-20% travel across Germany.
