The Intermediates business unit develops, produces, and markets a wide range of intermediates such as amines, diols, polyalcohols, acids, and specialties worldwide. These intermediates are used, for example, as starting materials for plastics, pharmaceuticals, textiles, detergents, and crop protection products. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
We are looking for you to join our Global technology team to develop intelligent solutions that enhances process efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of OASE gas treatment technology.
* As AI/ML Engineer, you design, implement, and deploy AI/ML models tailored to industrial process data, including time-series, simulation outputs, and sensor data.
* You also provide technical support to OASE global gas treatment team to translate business needs into technical solutions.
* Additionally, you generate steady-state and dynamic simulations and validate heat and mass balances (HMBs) as part of process design and model calibration.
* You are responsibile for expanding and adapting process simulation software to support modeling and optimization tasks for gas processing plants.
* You collaborate with process engineers to integrate domain knowledge into model development and validation.
* You develop and maintain scalable software systems and architectures for data-driven applications.
* Finally, you build and manage data pipelines, ensuring high-quality data ingestion, transformation, and storage.
WHAT YOU OFFER
* PhD in mathematics, computer science or a related field; background knowledge in chemical engineering and/or process systems engineering is a plus
* strong background in machine learning, deep learning and statistical modeling, as well as programming skills in Python, C# or similar languages
* practical experience with AI/ML in industrial settings (preferably chemical or process engineering), cloud platorms (e.g. Azure, AWS) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) are beneficial
* proficiency in process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen Plus, gPROMS, or similar), including customization and tuning
* solid understanding of process engineering principles, including process design and HMB generation, as well as software architecture and scalable system design
* experience in modeling and optimization of chemical processes, including steady-state and dynamic simulations
* hands-on experience with AI frameworks such as PyTorch and/or Keras
