WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
In our Agricultural Solutions division, we will soon establish an independent company, BASF Agricultural Solutions Deutschland GmbH (BASD). We are looking for your support starting August 1, 2026 – for at least 6 months (with the option to extend) and with a workload of a minimum of 10 hours and up to 20 hours per week.
* As a working student, you are responsible within the global Regulatory Science Team Ecotoxicology in the Agricultural Solutions division for setting up a database of ecological raw data for wild birds and mammals.
* You maintain and update the database to ensure data quality, traceability, and consistency at all times.
* In addition, you extract ecological data from the database and prepare them for further scientific analyses.
* You support the execution of evaluations and analyses and contribute to providing well‑founded answers to ecological research questions.
* Finally, you assist in preparing manuscripts for peer‑reviewed publications and independently conduct literature research on relevant ecotoxicological and ecological topics.
WHAT YOU OFFER
* enrolled student in biology, ecology, natural sciences, or a comparable degree program
* initial practical experience in scientific work, ideally with ecological or ecotoxicological datasets
* knowledge in creating and maintaining databases, e.g., using Microsoft Power Apps, Microsoft Access, SQL, or similar tools, as well as an affinity for data analysis
* very good written and spoken English skills, along with confident use of common MS Office applications
* independent, structured, and reliable working style, as well as enjoyment in contributing to an international team
